Nothing
Biography
Nothing is first the idea of a man, Dominic Palermo, a former active member of the Philadelphia Hardcore scene. After a stay in prison, this disused musician seeks out two demos in 2010 and 2011 under the name Nothing . Several changes of line up, well known by the small formations that begin, do not prevent him from continuing and, once the musicians around him stabilized, a signature at A389 Recordings allows him to put Downward Years To Come into the world, an EP very inspired by Slowdive in particular. The band was spotted by Metal's independent giant, Relapse Records, who offered to release their first album: Guilty Of Everything in 2014. Critics and the public appreciate and Palermo's efforts finally seem rewarded. The hard blows are going to follow: the band leaves its label in favour of Collect Records, a label whose artistic line was entrusted to Geoff Rickly, the singer of Thursday. Shortly thereafter, the band learned, along with the entire independent world scene, that the label was actually funded by Martin Shkreli, the most hated man on the planet. Nothing abandons the ship and finds Relapse Records. In 2015, Palermo was attacked in Oakland after a concert and failed to lose his ear. He will remain in hospital for several days. The year 2015 continues on its path with the group: between deuils and addiction, the group is going through a dark period. 2016 marks the return of Nothing who chose to fight evil by evil with a personal album entitled Tired Of Tomorrow released in May.
