Novembers Doom
Biography
The band, originally from Downers Grove (Chicago/Illinois), was formed in 1989, but really started in 1992 when the Italian label Redress Records began to take an interest in them and their demo (Her Tears Drop). The group then gives us a fairly traditional and deeply dark doom/death. The band then went to studio in 1994 to record their first album (Amid It's Hallowed Mirth ) under the label Avant Garde. The album will be released in 1995 and the band will be offered a small place on a Pavement Records compilation. The band will release an EP (For Every Leaf That Falls) two years later and will record its second album Of Sculputred Ivy&Stone Flowers which will be released in 2000 on the label Martyr Music, followed by its 3rd album The Knowing with Pavement Records which will be released a year later. The band's music is moving towards a much more melodic doom/death compared to their first album. For To Welcome The Fade , their fourth album, the band surrounds producer Neil Kernon (Queensryche , Judast Priest , Nevermore , Cannibal Corpse ) and the success will be at the rendezvous, acclaimed by the metal press (Number One metal album of 2002 in Metal Maniacs magazine). 2004 will be a significant year for the band, after a major tour in the States with The Gathering, the band signs with The End Records and starts recording their fifth album (The Pale Haunt Departure ) with once again widely respected producers of the metal scene since it is Dan Swano (Edge Of Sanity , Bloodbath , Nightingale ) and James Murphy ( Testament , Obituary and Disincarnate ). The album will be released in 2005 followed by a tour around the world with bands like Saturnus, Agalloch and Thurisaz. In June 2006, the band returned to the studio to record the successor of The Pale Haunt Departure: The Novella Reservoir .
