Biography

O.L.D. (for Old Lady Drivers) was born in 1988 in Bergenfield on the ashes of Regurgitation, a training in which James Plotkin served. It was in the form of a quartet that O.L.D. released his first album, Old Lady Drivers. The audience is receptive to the New Jersey combo's parodic Grind, which soon begins to make a small fan base. In fact, two years later, they were found on a split shared with the furious Assück , who soon proved to be one of the references of the Death/Grind of the early 90's. A few months later the band returned, refocused around two members, James Plotkin and Alan Dubin (futurs Khanate), who then surrounded themselves with a bassist (Jason Everman) and joined John Zorn's services in bonus to release the ambitious Lo Flux Tube . The two thinking heads reveal their inclinations for experimentation and industrial music, which will continue to occupy a growing place in their future productions. Now much closer to Godflesh than to their origins, the two Americans will continue their march forward and lose a little more their audience during the release of The Musical Dimension of Sleepak and Formula . Although still officially active, O.L.D. will nevertheless stop making talk about him from that time on. James Plotkin and Alan Dubin, taken by other projects (Khanate , Phantomsmasher ...) will end up officially scuttling their creation in 2002.
