O The Joy

O! The Joy is a Sacramento quartet including a drummer in love with polyrhythms (Mister Metaphor's Justin Goings and Playing To The Grandstand), a guitarist with a pronounced taste for the exermental and the soli 70's (Jason Ellis) and a singer at the background emo (Kurt Travis). Their first album, Zen Mode, was released on Distile Records and reflected a musical kaleidoscope pushing the comparison to The Mars Volta or Portugal The Man.
