Old Man Gloom
Biography
The Old Man Sombre formed in 1999 in Santa Fe, New Mexico, under the impulse of Aaron Turner ( Isis ) and Santos Montano ( Zozobra ), quickly joined by Nate Newton ( Converge , Doomriders ) and Caleb Scofield ( Cave In , Zozobra ) to release the first record, Meditations In B the same year. In 2001, Old Man Gloom released two simultaneous albums, Seminar II (The Holy Rites of Primitivism Regressionism) and III (Zozobra , so keep it up). Luke Scarola will take up the machines from this double disc. Stephen Brodsky (Cave In) will write the texts of a title on Seminar II and Jay Randall (Agoraphobic Nosebleed ) will bring his electronic touch. The EP Christmas Eve I and II + 6 , released in 2003, as to announce the suite in long format, Christmas , a year later. In 2012, the band recorded the latest album, NO , still under the leadership of the eternal (and recurring) Kurt Ballou. Two years later released The Ape of God , a new double album by Profound Lore Records, which had been faked by the band itself, with the idea of making a nose to the leak of albums on the web before they were put on official sale.
