Old Man S Child
Biography
Old Man's Child was born in 1993 as Requiem on the ashes of a group of covers of Metallica and Slayer mounted by Galder and Tjodalv (future Dimmu Borgir). First influenced by the death metal scene, the band released a demo under this name before taking the name Old Man's Child and changing musical orientation to Black Metal Symphony. They recorded in 1994 the demo In The Shades Of Life (which was supposed to be a split with Ved Buens Ende) which will make them notice by Hot Records (the demo will only be released in 1996). The following year, the band recorded its first album, Born Of The Flickr (and underwent many line-up changes, something that would become usual for the band, Galder remaining the only fixed member). Century Media Records notes them in turn and signs them, releases their first album and allows them to record The Pagan Prosperity which was born in 1997 and then Ill-natured Spiritual Invasion (on which Galder plays almost all instruments, except the drums). In 1999, the band recorded Revelation 666 - The Curse Of Damnation with Peter TÃĪgtgren ( Hypocrisy , Abyss , Pain ). In 2000 Galder joined Dimmu Borgir on guitar but still keeps in an Old Man's Child corner. He followed up on the band's discography in 2003 with In Defiance Of Existence and in 2005 with Vermin . 2009 saw the band come back with its seventh album: Slave Of The World with Peter Wildoer (Darkane , Pestilence , Arch Enemy ) on drums.
