Biography

Ophiolatry formed in 1998 in Pindamonhangaba in the São Paulo region of Brazil by Tiago Nunes singing, Antonio Costa on bass, Jorge Duarte behind the drums and Fabio Sperandio on guitar wishing to play a Death Metal brutal and without concessions. A first three-title demo ( Opposite Monarchy ) was released in 1999 and was also published on a split with Ancestral Malediction. In 2001, the band signed with Evil Vengeance Records, which released their first album, Anti-Evangelistic Process, the following year. Tiano Nunes then left the formation, but was replaced by Antonio Costa, who had been bassist and singer since then. This follows a series of splits in 2004, 2005 and 2006 with Infernal Dominion , Abhorrence and Sacramental Blood as well as a 50-day tour in 2003 where the band performs across Europe. Six years after Anti-Evangelistic Process, the Brazilian combo released Transmutation at Forces Of Satan Records and Regain Records, more uplifted than ever. Jorge Duarte left the training in 2010, replaced by Leonardo Mancilha, but at the end of March 2012 Ophiolatry splitte. Three years later, a compilation named Raw #D-Side was released at Lab 6 Music.
