Biography

Orange Goblin , a British stone metal group, was born in 1995 in the Soho district of London under the surname "Our Haunted Kingdom". The training consisted of Ben Ward (song), Joe Hoare (guitar), Pete O-Malley (guitar), Martin Millard (bass) and Chris Turner (battery). The band quickly changed its name to the one we currently know and released two EPs with the other flagship of the otter-manchtoner, Electric Wizard: Demon Lung / Aquatic fanatic released in 1996 at Rise Above Records and Chrono.Naut/Nuclear Guru in 1997 at Mans Ruin Records. Orange Goblin forges dice during a solid live reputation by shielding the pubs of the capital with its stoner-doom-metal mastooned of 70s psychedelism inspired by Black Sabbath, Hawkwind or Pink Fairies. In 1997, the band entered the studio for flooring on its first LP. Frequencies from planet ten then comes out, produced and recorded by Dave Chang. There is also the presence of Duncan Gibbs, a musician session used by goblins to highlight the "psyched" aspect of their music with great keyboard reinforcement. However, this one will not be remembered for recording the second opus, time-travelling blues in 1998, still produced by Chang, but which has a more crude and groovy side. In 2000, the Londoners offered a small interlude the time of a split with Alabama Thunderpussy, before returning to the studio alongside Billy Anderson (Neurosis , Eyehategod , Om , Sleep , High On Fire , Cathedral , Bongzilla , Mr Bungle ...nothing else!) and releasing The big black , an album the band itself will call cosmic doom. As a result, the excellent stage reputation of Orange Goblin will continue to grow, which will be worth the band to tour with, among others, Alice Cooper, Queens Of The Stone Age, Danzig, Monster Magnet, Nashville Pussy, Nebula, Unida, Dio, etc. 2002 marks a huge turning point in the English career. Indeed, as a result of a very logical evolution, the band takes its fans against the foot when exiting Coup de grace. Produced by the excellent bass player-beater-producer Scott Reeder ( Kyuss , Fu Manchu , The obsessed , Goatsnake ...), the record drops the psychedelic fireworks of the beginnings to deliver a stone-doom to the raw punk hints of de-offrage. The production of Reeder and more raw, cradier, more urgent, nevertheless keeping a huge fuzzy sound. It's probably the band's best album to date, as it gives it its own identity, a true "touch" Orange Goblin. In 2004, guitarist Pete O It is moreover as a quartet that the Londoners released the same year Thieving from the House of God with as producer, Mark Daghorn ( Mendeed , Cradle Of Filth , Marillion ...). If the record retains more or less the sound quality of its predecessor, it leaves aside the fulgurances punks to elongate an abrasive and well-linked rock metal. True to Rise Above Records since his debut, Orange Goblin released, in 2007, Healing Through Fire at Mayan Records, keeping Daghorn in production. A final effort that continues the process undertaken by Coup De Grace , and which seems to be proven since then.
