Orphaned Land
Biography
Formed under the name Resurrection in 1991, Orphaned Land changed its name and orientation from the following year to a mixture of metal and its roots in the Middle East. Indeed, the group is from Israel and it is quite naturally that this choice was offered to him. It was in 1993 that the first titles of the training were recorded and released on the demo The Beloved's Cry . Following in 1994 Sahara and in 1996 El Norra Allila , two first combo albums that became cults for the underground metal scene, by the mix they offered. In 1997, however, the group had to deal with the sad reality of a country in the midst of a civil war, inter alia, because it advocated Muslim, East-West friendship and peace, and it was with regret that members decided to stop the visible activities of their project there. However, for seven years, the members of the group work, compose, experiment, on what will be their masterpiece: Mabool. In 2003, for two months, the recording was launched, with a grandiose dimension: more than 30 instrumentalists in addition to the group, about 40 different instruments, five languages used for half a dozen vocalists. Orphaned Land saw great, for this concept-album in meticulous gestation for years that could remain like a real goldsmith's piece.
