Oxbow
Biography
Oxbow is an avant-garde music band from San Francisco, California. Their music is a mix of Noise-Rock, Experimental Jazz and Blues. Formed in 1988, Oxbow is composed of Dan Adams (Basse, Claviers), Greg Davis (Battery), Niko Wenner (Guitare, Claviers) and the charismatic singer, Eugene Robinson. Their first album, Fuckfest , was released in 1989 and already shows an Oxbow mixing musical styles. As a result, the group's success is growing until today. King Of The Jews released two years later and after 1995, the famous producer Steve Albini ( Shellac) noticed them and produced Let Be A Woman. Oxbow signed two years later at STT Records for the release of Serenade In Red, where Marianne Faithfull was invited for vocals. After a split with Noise-Rock White Tornado in 1999, Oxbow released An Evil Heat at Neurot Recordings in 2002, then The Narcotic Story in 2007, which remains the biggest success of the combo. Since then on the Hydra Head Records label, the band has reissued its first two albums as well as an EP: Songs For The French in 2009. After a Split in 2011 with Kill Kill Kill, it will take another six years to see a new long format, Thin Black Duke, which will bring Hydra Head back from its ashes for the occasion.
