Pain
Biography
Bread is a one man band created by Peter Tägtgren, a man at least active in the field of Metal. He is first known for being the leader of the Hypocrisy group, and for temporarily participating in many other groups, including Bloodbath to name but one. He is also a producer, owning his own studio, The Abyss, and has already worked for Immortal , Children Of Bodom , Dimmu Borgir , Old Man's Child and other great names in the Metal scene.
In 1996, he became interested in the contributions of electronic sounds in Metal, and decided to create for a solo project in which he himself recorded the song and all the instruments, allowing him to distance himself from Death and Black. The same year released the first album of Pain , eponymous. Too quickly composed and recorded by Peter Tägtgren himself, the record received a very mixed reception. Yet, in 2000, he handed over the cover with Rebirth who remains in this Electro / Metal vein and who makes the project more known in Scandinavian countries. The next two albums (Nothing Remains The Same in 2002 and Dancing With The Dead in 2005) will see Pain's style diversify and its popularity gradually grow. After a live dvd in 2005 ( Live Is Overrated ), Pain signs from Roadrunner and prepares the release of a future album in which several guests participate, Alexi Laiho ( Children Of Bodom ), Peter Iwers ( In Flames ) and Mikkey Dee ( Motörhead ). Psalms Of Extinction comes out in 2007 and tries to vary genres even more on the same disc. It allows the group to become more widely known in Europe. At the same time, the band will play the first part of the entire European Nightwish tour in 2008. Following this adventure, the singer of the above-mentioned group, Annette Olzon, will be invited to place her voice on 2 tracks of Cynic Paradise , an album released in 2008 that reconnects a little with the Metal dancefloor of the beginnings, but receives a mixed welcome from critics. Pain then made a European tour leading the poster, and occasionally continued the first games of Nightwish, notably in Paris where the Monkey Business clip will be shot. Peter Tägtgren plunged again on Hypocrisy , leaving for the moment Pain in retreat.
