Formed: 2005
Styles: Black Metal

Biography

Panzerfaust was born in 2005 in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, from the meeting between the guitarist Brock Van Dijk (who was then called Kaizer) and drummer Lord Baphomet. They were quickly joined by a bassist (Orcus) and a singer, Goliath. Of these four original members, in 2024 only Brock Van Dijk and Goliath remained. Quickly, the name of the group (which refers to an anti-tank weapon used by the Wehrmacht during the 2nd World War) is a false affiliation to the NSBM scene. In response, the group has always referred to the reading of their words. The first demo of The Winds Will Lead Us... was released in 2006 and was followed the following year by a split with Totalus Necrum. It was only in 2010, two years after the release of their first LP The Dark Age of Militant Paganism, that Panzerfaust began to come out of the game by ensuring the first parts of the Black scene: Watain and Marduk. In 2019, the group began to design an ambitious tetralogy: The Suns of Perdition. Chapter I: War, Horrid War released in 2019, Chapter II: Render Unto Eden in 2020, C hapter III: The Astral Drain in 2022 and Chapter IV: To Shadow Zion in 2024.
