Biography

Few of the formations are so fast breaking into the international scene. Originally from Byron Bay, Australia, Parkway Drive, whose name comes from the street in which one of the members' homes (the cellar serving as a rehearsal room) is located, is next to the peaks of popularity from the start of his career. Founded in 2002 by Winston McCall (Chant), Jeff Ling (Guitare), Luke Killpatrick (Guitare), Ben Gordon (Battery) and Brett Versteeg (Basse), the band quickly released a split in 2003 with I Kill The Prom Queen and an ep, Don't Close Your Eyes, in 2004. Shaun Cash replaced Brett the same year, and the Australians continued on a first album, Killing With A Smile. He was released on the independent label Resist Records in 2005 and quickly reached the Top 40 in the ocean zone. The band starts the tours in the lead this allows it to strengthen its ever growing fan base. His participation in Taste Of Chaos 2006, earned him the honor of being noticed by Epitaph who offered him a deal. But Shaun also left the formation, replaced by Jia Connor on bass. His second album Horizons under the arm in 2007, Parkway Drive then embarks on a world tour with bands like Killswitch Engage, Bury Your Dead, Stick To Your Guns, August Burns Red and Darkest Hour. In early 2010, Parkway Drive returned to the studio to record the third album, Deep Blue. The band toured Australia with The Devil Wears Prada, The Ghost Inside and 50 Lions. In September, the band was named for its Deep Blue album at the Aria Awards, in the category of Heavy Metal's best album of the year; he wins in this category as well as the award for the best album Punk / Hardcore. August 2012, the band announces the future release of the album entitled Atlas , with an Australian tour in the wake, an opus still very well received by critics and fans that only confirms the status of Parkway Drive leader in the global Metalcore. Their last work is called: Ire , it appears in September 2015.
