Biography

Paul Banks aka Julian Plenti is the leader of Interpol, hip-hop fan he also worked as DJ Fancypants. His solo career did not really start until 2009, with a first album named Julian Plenti is... Skyscraper, walking with Interpol's work is important, the atmospheres are both much less dark and more intimate, sometimes recalling Bon Iver, the object sounds clearly like a bowl of air for the guy at a time when Interpol was seriously starting to slip away, from his own admission. Three years later he handed over the cover with Julian Plenti Lives... a five-track EP released in the spring of 2012, followed in the fall by a second mischief this time under his own name, Banks very far from Skyscraper but also more homogeneous, draws this time towards sounds close to Bauhaus, The Sisters of Mercy or The Chameleons. In 2013, he posted on the net a hip-hop mix-tapes with the charming name Everybody on My Dick Like They Supposed to Be.
