Biography

Founded in October 2001 and originally from Andorra, Persefone is a progressive Death Metal band, offering complex and technical music. Carlos Lozano Quintanilla (Chant / Guitar), Miguel Espinosa (Chant / Keyboard), Jordi Gorgues Mateu (Guitare), Toni Mestre Coy (Basse) and Xavi Pérez (Battery) begin playing a Death-Metal that incorporates progressive and acoustic passages. Influenced by Dream Theater , Opeth , Arcturus or Symphony X , Persefone recorded his first album in 2004, Thruth Inside The Shades at Soudholic Records and Adipocere Records. The band then worked on its second opus with two new members, Aleix Dorca Josa as drummer and producer and Marc Martins Pia singing. Core is divided into three acts of about twenty minutes in which Persephone, the Greek goddess of hell, goes on a crusade. It was distributed in 2006 by Soundholic Records in Asia, but in spring 2007 by Burning Star Records. After several concerts in Europe, Persefone began the composition of their third album, focusing on the theme of the samurais, their way of life and their philosophy. Marc Mas Marti also replaces Aleix Dorca Josa behind the drums. Four months of work is needed to give birth to Shin-Ken, which is produced by Tommy Hansen (Helloween, Pretty Maids) and distributed by Kolony Records and Core Music Records. In March 2010, Persefone toured with Obituary and shared the poster of European festivals such as the Hungary Fest or the Dong Open Air.
