Pitchshifter
Biography
Appearing in the early 1990s, Pitchshifter is probably the most discreet industrial group on the international scene. It must be said that their beginnings were more like a clumsy metal industry, billed under Ministry, than to personal and captivating sounds. However, the band developed in the shadows and released some albums: Industrial in 91, Submitted in 92, Desensitized in 93 and I nfotainment in 96. The band campaigns for free music and provides at the end of their albums (from Infotainment ) all the samples used for the use of any other musician willing to create. But it will still have to wait until 1998 for Pichshifter to finally puncture the cage in which they were operating. The group detachs from its suffocating roots and goes back on a radically different path. More energetic, more rock and amazing freshness, www.pitchshifter.com is the first expiration of the second breath of the formation. Second breath which, alas, will not be maintained long... The next album, Deviant , without being bad will prove to be very easy and disappointing and it is not a mediocre PSI with simplistic neosensive hints, released in 2002, which will help swallow the pill. Not everything is to be thrown away, but Pichshifter seems to still have to bifurcate to return to another cage, this time too accessible. A live album was released in 2005 and the band disappeared in the shadows, with recurring rumors of split starting gradually to hope for a new opus at www.pitchshifter.com ..
