Biography
It all started in 2008 when Chris Bug (Chant) decided to move to New York on the advice of his friend Ivan Lip (Guitare), newly installed in Greepoint (Brooklyn) the duo decided to recruit members, yes but members who had never played an instrument, and so John Skullrane (Basse) and Andrew Smith (Batterie) joined what became Pop. 1280; name from an eponymous police novel written by Jim Thompson. Chris and Ivan quickly get to work and the band's music is moving towards a genre of new wave mix, post punk and industrial rock drawing its influences from bands such as The Velvet Underground , Joy Division , Sonic Youth or Liars , signed by Sacred Bones Records the New Yorkers gave birth to a first EP titled The Grid in 2010 and an album The Horror in 2012.
