Biography

Poppy (born 1995 in Boston) is an American singer/songwriter/songwriter/songwriter/songwriter/songwriter/songwriter/songwriter/songwriter. Poppy style navigates in many styles, pop, ska, neo metal, metalcore, electro, dark pop, ... After beginning on Youtube with strange videos, she presents herself at first as an android and creates a lore around it. His first discography was released in 2016 with the EP Bubblebath , followed by an ambient album 3:36 (Music to Sleep To). His taste for social networks/new media or mediums is felt throughout his career with a lot of essays on different media (books, comics, virtual live in Roblox, a horror movie would even be on project, ...) His first real album released in October 2017 under the name Poppy.Computer, very pop it will be followed a year later by the darkest and electro Am I a Girl? . It is in 2019 that Poppy will be noticed in the world rock / metal with a duo with Fever 333 for "Scary Mask" which will be on the EP Choke released in June 2019; Three months later she signed on Summerian Records (label of Animals As Leaders , Bad Omens , ...) and released the album I Disagree which confirms the increasingly metallic and dark turn with an industrial metal rendering. This album will be followed by Flux in September 2021, which will be him in a more punk rock / grunge tone. His fifth album will be released in October 2023, under the name Zig in a dark pop vein. With a strong rhythm of Poppy album releases back in November 2024 with Negative Spaces, a mellow metal track album (Neo / Metalcore / Indus) and some very pop (and sometimes both). In 2024 Poppy was also noted thanks to his collaboration with Knocked Loose on the title "Suffocate"; he is named to the Grammy Awards in the Best Performance Metal category; Poppy is the first female solo artist to be named in this category. In France it is programmed at Hellfest 2025.
