From a scene that did not yet portray his name at the time, Portrait was active between 1996 and 2001, the time to lay, in parallel with Saetia, a whole part of the bases of the Modern Scraamo (Post 2000), called to become one of the American schools of the genre. With the support of the local labels Stickfigure and Sanguine, the natives of Atlanta will therefore release in 5 years a first demo 4 tracks, two ep ( The beginning 7) and The Selft-Titled 10) before concluding with a last 7 ( All My Chances), 4 efforts in which will be concentrated the whole range of sounds referring to the 2nd wave indie indie both US ( Inkwell , Frail , Mineral , Sea Of Cortez ) and French ( Ivich , Anomie , Peu-Etre , Jasemine ), all overhanged by a violin that will act as the brand name of the band. All these efforts are now grouped into a discography available via Stickfigure ( I Would Set Myself On Fire For Your , Lack ). As for its members, they now act, dispersed, within Airoes, Electrosleep International, Battlecat, and The Gates of Berlin.
