Formed in San Francisco in 1994, Portraits Of Past is a founding and fundamental band of the hardcore emo/screen scene. Although active for only 2 years, the influence of combo is now widely perceived in the same way as Saetia or Orchid . After their separation Bringetto, Buffa and Shelverton form The View. In 2005 Bringetto and Shelverton launched a new innovative project: Bellavista . Bajda will play in Funeral Diner. In 2008, Ebullition Records took the initiative to release all of Portraits Of Past songs on CD. The album gathers the album's titles, 2 songs from compilations, 7" split songs with Bleed as well as a pair of compositions never released. The same year, the combo was reshaped. First for a few concerts in the United States, then for a tour through Europe and Japan. In 2009, Cypress Dust Witch , an EP featuring 4 new compositions, was released.
