Prophets Of Rage
Biography
Summer 2016. As the controversial U.S. presidential elections approached, Prophet Of Rage was formed by Chuck D. and DJ Lord of Public Enemy and B-Real of Cypress Hill, joined by Rage Against The Machine and Audioslave musicians (Tom Morello on guitar, Brad Wilk on drums, and Tim Commerford on bass). Zack De La Rocha, RATM singer, is also invited but declines the invitation. He nevertheless agreed that Prophet Of Rage would play Rage Against The Machine on stage. The super band also plays some Cypress Hill and Public Enemy titles. The first EP of the Americans, The Party is released in August 2016, and contains two novel and Prophets-specific titles, as well as live versions of Killing In The Name (RATM ), ShutçEm Down ( Public Enemy ) and a Beastie Boys title. Immediately politicized, the group named its first "make America rage again" tour, deviating Donald Trump's electoral slogan against which the group stands. The band then worked on a first album for the following months, and published Prophets Of Rage in September 2017.
