Protagonist

Formed in Boca Raton, Florida, Protagonist does not bathe in the scene No Idea / Gainesville and prefers the continental melo punk hxc. As early as 2001, the quintet improvised in municipal halls and skate parks to form a modest DIY fanbase. They're being spotted from New York by Blackout! Records ( H2O , Kill Your Idols ...). Hope and Rage , the first cake of the combo thus comes out in '03 from the premises of the hardcore punk creamery. The dates follow more quickly and frequently until the EP Reasoning With Time (Stakeout Records) is released with 3 original titles and 2 covers.
After a study break, they returned to the road in '08, going to Japan before recording a new record. Vinnie Fiorello (Less Than Jake , ex-boss of Fueled By Ramen ...) hears it early 2009 and decides in the moment to release it on his new label, Paper + Plastick . The Chronicle will only be available for download before being released on CD for a 4-month summer and fall tour across North America, which will see them participate in the Warped Tour.
