Biography

Psycroptic is an Australian Death Metal Technical band founded in 1999 by the Dave brothers (battery) and Joe Haley (guitar). The band's first production was the The Isle of Disenchantment demo released in 2000, which by its quality became a full album. This album was self-produced by the band members. Shortly after the band took part in the Metal for the Brain festival in Canberra. In 2003, Psycroptic released his second album: The Scepter of the Ancients under the American label Unique Leader Records. That same year, the band began its first tour throughout Australia, taking on the first part of the Incantation concerts. Also in 2003, the Haley brothers joined The Amenta, a Black Industrial band based in Sydney and recorded the album Ocassus. Dave Haley also worked on Atom in time, an EP of the Ruins group, originally from the city of Hobart as well as Psycroptic. 2004 is the year of revelation for Psycroptic. They made a new Australian tour, this time with Deeds of Flesh, then went to Europe to follow the Swedish of Dismember and Anata for a great tour. However, the singer, Matthew Chalk, did not want to invest in such a trip. He's a friend of his, Jason Peppiatt, who's hired for the tour. Back in Australia, Psycroptic again participated in the Metal for the Brain festival. As a result, Matthew Chalk was dismissed from the band and in 2005 Jason Peppiatt officially took his place. Psycroptic gave a few concerts in Australia with Hate Eternal , before starting writing their third album, Symbols of Fauire , which was released in 2006 under the label Neurotic Records. This was followed by a new European tour with bands such as Nile, before returning to Australia for the first part of a tour of Cannibal Corpse. In early 2007, Psycroptic started working on a new opus before leaving for the old continent to secure the first part of Deicide. During this tour, guitarist Joe Haley experiences health problems which unfortunately compels the training to cancel the last four performances. On June 10, 2007, Psycroptic was featured at the Come Together Music Festival in Sydney. In October 2008, Australians released their fourth album, Ob(Servant), under the label Nuclear Blast. The band then released a fifth studio album, The Inherited Repression , in February 2012, and an eponymous album in 2015, followed by As the Kingdom Drowns in 2018.
