Biography

An elusive hyperactive, eclectic artist, enigmatic figure with staggered humour, Maynard James Keenan was best illustrated as a frontman in the now Worship Tool and A Perfect Circle. The Puscifer project is in no way a solo escape, but a real media expression of all his creative desires. Although his first studio album, V is for Vagina , is only released at the end of 2007 (not long after the EP Don For the first time in the HBO Mr Show series as a fictional band, Maynard James Keenan then turned it into a real musical project, for example participating in the film Underworld (2003)'s original soundtrack, offering original songs and remix. The singer describes Puscifer as "a simple playground for the various voices in my head, a space without clear objectives" and gives him a real multimedia dimension (cinema, television, internet, merchandising, etc.). Many artists have participated, such as Danny Lohner ( Nine Inch Nails ), Tim Alexander ( Primus ), Tim Commerford ( Rage Against The Machine , Audioslave ), Brad Wilk ( Rage Against The Machine , Audioslave ), Trey Gunn (King Crimson) and Milla Jovovich, which illustrates the creative diversity. The end of A Perfect Circle had seen Maynard declare that the music industry in its present form was at the end of its life. Just as elusive as the singer himself, the very existence of Puscifer seems to illustrate these statements.
