Randy

The history of the Swedish band Randy dates back to 1988 and the formation of Heffa-Klump which the cousins Grenberg (Stefan: chant/guitare and Frederik: drums) had founded. In 1991, the band changed its name to English (and not Swedish) songs. It is also at that time that the current guitarist Johan Brändström enters the stage... the band signs at Dolores Recordings, Burning Heart Records having arrived slightly too late in the battle. At the end of '93, the band released its first real album No Carrots For The Rehabilitated. the Ska EP and There`s no way we`re wonna fit in follow very quickly in '94. The latter, much faster and aggressive, marks Randy's new style that will prevail 2 years later on their famous The Rest Is Silence. Meanwhile, the combo has already had time to make its first European tour alongside Lagwagon and to release a few other small EPs, singles and 7" on Dolores; and in '98 they release their first album for Burning Heart You Can't Keep A Good Band Down. With this cd that had seen Johan Gustafsson's debut at the bass, some fans of the band are experiencing their first disappointment, which will be confirmed by The Human Atom Bomb that some find too poppy and too different from the opus while quickly distilled in recent years. Randy takes another step in his evolution with the MCD Cheater (released in '02 by G7 Welcoming Committee) which features more punk/rock n' roll music. Then in '03 follows Welfare Problems on Burning Heart, about the same line as his predecessor.
