Rebellion

In 2000, guitarist Uwe Lulis and bassist Tommy Göttlich left Grave Digger, with Lulis considering a time to keep the name (without achieving it). Rebellion was founded in 2001 with singer Michael Seifert, drummer Randy Black (ex-Annihilator) and guitarist Björn Eilen. As its name suggests, the first album, Shakespeare's Macbeth - A Tragedy In Steel (2002) is a conceptual record based on the famous tragedy. It is followed in 2003 by Born A Rebel , in a much more basic Heavy Metal registry without a central theme, and which will prove to be a discographic exception. In 2005, after Randy Black's departure for Primal Fear and his replacement by Gerd Lücking, a triptych about the history of Vikings began: Sagas Of Iceland was followed in 2007 by Miklagard to conclude in 2009 with Arise: From Ginnungagap To Ragnarök , the band's three most famous albums to date. During this period a change of guitarist occurred, with the arrival of Simone Wenzel instead of Björn Eilen. Then in 2010, we see the triple departure of Lulis (now at Accept), Lücking (now at Holy Moses) and Wenzel. Only the original members Tomi Göttlich and Michael Seifert, who recruited in 2011 guitarists Oliver Geibig and Stephan Karut, as well as drummer Matthias Karle (ex-Squealer). The following two albums focus on the history of Germanic peoples: Arminius - Furor Teutonicus in 2012, and after another drummer change, Wyrd Bið Ful Aræd - The History Of The Saxons in 2015. The latest drummer is Tommy Telkemeier, who arrived in 2016. Concerning the eighth opus, it is a time to complete the history of the Germains to make it another trilogy, but it is finally a second work of the famous playwright who wins the adhesion of the combo: A Tragedy In Steel Part II: Shakespeare's King Lear is born in January 2018.
