Redemption
Biography
Redemption was formed in 2001 by guitarists Nick Van Dyk and Bernie Versailles, who surrounded various influential musicians of the American melodic Prog scene: Jason Rullo, drummer of Symphony X; Michael Romeo , guitarist of the same band, who here plays the keyboard by guest on the first album ; and Ray Adler, singer of Fates Warning who intervenes on a title of the first album before becoming permanent vocalist. Chris Quirarte will quickly take Jason Rullo's place behind the drums, and after two albums with James Sherwood on bass, Sean Andrews will replace him to form a stable line-up that will last almost a decade and three albums. From 2014, Bernie Versailles retired from the group without leaving, due to serious health problems. The Art Of Loss comes out in 2016, without him, and he will choose to deofficialize his departure in 2017. Ray Adler leaves Redemption at the same time, to focus on his group Fates Warning. Bernie Versailles will not be replaced and Nick Van Dyk is now in charge of all guitars (although guest guitarists are present on albums where he no longer plays, for example Simone Mularoni (DGM) but also those of Chris Poland, Marty Friedman, and Chris Broderick, all three of the former Megadeth, on The Art Of Loss). Tom Englund ( Evergrey) succeeds Ray Adler behind the microphone. Just prior to the release of Long Night
