Retribution Gospel Choir

Originally a side-project staged by two Low members, singer/guitarist Alan Sparhawk and drummer Matt Livingstone, Retribution Gospel Choir (which owes its name - ironically - to travelling choirs in the United States) makes its debut by reproducing Low songs from a different, more electric angle.
Inspired by a nervous blues rock, the band solidifies its music and develops its own compositions during the tours following the release of the eponymous album in 2008. While rôting new live tracks, Alan Sparhawk's band signed in 2009 with Sub Pop ( Low , The Album Leaf , Band of Horses , Comets on Fire , Pisad Jeans , The Postal Service ...). The second album, soberly titled 2 , is released in early 2010 and consolidates the idea that Retribution Gospel Choir has now become a fully-fledged band and emancipated from its parent project, Low .
