Rippikoulu

Rippikoulu is one of many entities from the Finnish Underground Death Metal. Along with his accomplices Demigod , Demilich , Abhorrence and many others, they will quickly become a cult formation to the career however far too short. Formed in 1990, Anssi Kartela (Chant), Olli V. (Guitare), Marko Henriksson (Guitare), Toni Valtanen (Battery) and Janne Ruohonen (Basse) recorded a first demo entitled Mutaation Aiheuttama Sisäinen Mätäneminen in 1992, in cassette format. Serious things begin the following year with Musta Seremonia , a true masterpiece of heavyness, power and savagery. Unfortunately, on Christmas Eve 1995, guitarist Marko Henriksson died. The musicians decide to pause the project for a period of two years, in order to respect the memory of their companion but, after several unsuccessful attempts of reformation, the spell seems not to allow the fans to see a new album of Rippikoulu emerge from the darkness. In 2010, the Finnish label Svart Records reissues in CD and vinyl format Musta Seremonia but it must wait until 2014 for the ep Ulvaja, the band's first recording in over twenty years, with as new drummer Mikko Ruohonen.
