Biography
Rise Of The Northstar formed in 2008 in Paris under the leadership of Vithia (Chant) and its name was inspired by the American title of Manga Ken the Survivor. The singer surrounds Diego (Guitare), Loïc G (Guitare), Lucas (Basse) and Max V (Battery) to form a first line-up for a two-track demo in 2008 and in 2009, the first ep five titles Tokyo Assault , is recorded at the studio St. Martha by Guillaume Mauduit ( Providence , Kickback , Out For The Count ). Summer 2010, the group made its first change of members with the arrival of Eva-B (Guitare) and Hokuto No Kev (Battery) following the departure of Diego and Max. In October 2010, they recorded the song Protect Ya Chest, released in February 2011 as a video clip, filmed by Berzerker. Opinions are positive with over 15,000 views in a week. May 2011, the group launches the Protect Your Japan campaign, following the disasters that affected Japan on March 11 of the same year, with the aim of raising funds for the Japanese Red Cross through an exclusive piece. The Phoenix title was released on 20 June 2011 on their bandcamp. A video is also shot. Shortly after, a new member joined Rrise Of The Northsar, it was Air One (Guitare) who replaced Loïc G who had left the group a few months earlier. At the end of 2011, the band announced that it was working on a first album, but it was finally a second ep, Demonstrating My Saiya Style, which would be recorded in early 2012 and which appeared in June. Early 2013, Lucas (Basse) announced his departure, and was replaced by Fabulous Fab. At the end of the year the band finally recorded its first album Welcame , and created its own independent label Repression Records. Its release was initially set for September 29, 2014, but was finally postponed to November 24, 2014 after the band signed with the famous German label Nuclear Blast Records. Rise Of The Northstar reaches a wider audience with its mix of Punk Hardcore, Metal/hardcore, Thrash Metal, and Hip-Hop, strongly influenced by Japanese culture and especially manga. In 2018, the musicians announced the production of a second record, produced in New York in the Gojira studio with the participation of Joe Duplantier. In October 2018, The Legacy Of Shi was released by Nuclear Blast Records. Phantom replaces Hokuto no Kev with battery in the course of 2018. Early in 2022, Fabulous Fab was accused of domestic violence and the group paused for a while. Rise Of The Northstar returned in 2023 with Yoru on bass and a third album, Showdown , which appeared at Atomic Fire Records.
