Rival Schools
Biography
Ian Love: Walter Schreifels Guitar: Sam Siegler guitar/song: Cache Tolman drums: bass Rival Schools was born in 1999 in New York under the leadership of Walter Schreifels, an essential figure in hardcore and consort, having evolved in Gorilla Biscuits and Youth Of Today before forming Quicksand, producer among others of CIV and Hot Water Music. The band is a "all star band" since it also includes Sam Siegler ( Youth Of Today , Gorilla Biscuits , CIV , Judge , Shelter ), Cache Toleman ( Iceburn , CIV ) and Ian Love (author/songwriter in his solo band, Burn And Die 116 ). The band performed its first concert in England in February 2000 and returned triumphantly to the US. At the beginning of 2001, he recorded an ep with Jonah Matranga , the singer of Far officiate then in Onelinedrawing , which was released at Some Records, Walter and Sam's label. In August 2001, Rival Schools released its first album, United By Fate , produced by Luke Ebbin, via Island Records. He propels the formation on the front of the stage, surprising those who thought she would be just a Quicksand bis. Ian Love left Rival Schools in 2002 to form Cardia and then in 2003, the band split up. Despite this breakup, a lot of rumors will circulate about the release of a second album. It was only in 2008 that Rival Schools resurfaced by giving some concerts especially in Europe. Walter Schreifels announced that the band was making a new album. 2009 saw the band perform at various festivals with Mad Caddies, The Bronx or Rise Against, and tour with The Offspring. The release of Pedals , Rival Schools' second album , first scheduled for summer 2010, will take place in March 2011 via Photo Finish and Atlantic Records, 10 years after United By Fate .
