Biography

Roadrunner Records was founded in 1980 in Amsterdam, at the beginning of a simple metal importer from North America to Europe (with bands like Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer) the label will soon be interested in group signature. In 1986 the label opened its first office in the USA and wanted to sign bands, the first successes were King Diammond, Annihilator and then the first real discoveries with Obituary and Sepultura. The band then embellishes its catalogue of bands of various styles (death, jazz metal, gothic). Now, even so often criticized, Roadrunner remains a more than important label with well-discised bands. For his 25th birthday, Roadrunner has concocted a big surprise: to gather on an album more than 50 musicians all member of the band that was (or is still) signed on the Dutch label. Piloted by 4 "Captains" Joey Jordison (Slipknot ), Dino Cazares (Fear Factory ), Robert Flynn ( Machine Head ) and Matthew K. Heafy ( Trivium ) all tracks are original and feature artists from different eras, with different styles, 18 tracks or each line up is exceptional and unlikely. Not to mention the members but only the bands where these artists come from we are already impressed: Coal Chamber in Soulfly, Chimaira, Slipknot, Type O Negative, Cradle Of Filth, Glassjaw, The Misfit, King Diammond, Sepultura, Killswitch Engage, Ill Nino, Vision Of Disorder, Suffocation, Murderdolls, Annihilator, Still Remains, Spineshank, Cynic, Obituary, 3 Inches Of Blood, Deicide, Life Of Agony, Opeth, Malevolent Creation, Death, ... here's "whole" the impressive list (we can regret the absence of Biohazard or Madball) The question now is: is it successful?
