
Robert Plant
Biography
Two years after the separation of Led Zeppelin , Plant entered a solo career and released Pictures of Elements , then The Principle of Moments the following year. In 1984 Plant found Page and together they formed The Honeydrippers , an ephemeral band that only released an album. Plant later recorded Shaken 'n' Stirred before returning to Led Zep for a few concerts between 1985 and 1988. From 1988 to 1993 he collaborated with the keyboardist Phil Johnstone and released three half-tone albums before returning to his compare Jimmy Page for two magical albums, No Quarter and Walking Into Clarksdale. Page and Plant ended in 2000 and Plant resumed his solo career by founding the Priory of Brion band with guitarist Kevyn Gammond, a longtime friend with whom he sang in Birmingham pubs before joining Led Zeppelin. Priory of Brion was a group of covers that lasted only for a while...

After many solo projects and the dissolution of Priory of Brion , Robert Plant again surrounded himself with talented musicians to form Robert Plant and The Strange Sensation in 2001. The band consisted of guitarists Justin Adams and Porl Thomson (The Cure ), keyboardist John Baggott (Portishead , Massive Attack ), drummer Clive Deamer (Portishead ) and bassist Charlie Johns. In 2002 they recorded an album of covers with blues and oriental influences, Dreamland. Robert Plant and The Strange Sensation then set out on a world tour for almost a year, a tour in which they included songs by Led Zeppelin. For their second album, Mighty Rearranger (2005), Liam 'Skin' Tyson ( Cast ) and Billy Fuller ( Funk Against Junk ) replaced Thomson and Johns respectively.
