Ruiner was born at the end of 2004 in Baltimore (Maryland) and recorded his first demo, Still Smiling. In hardcore the concerts being the nerve of the war, the band embarks on a first two-week tour with The Spark , followed by a second in the lead with the Portuguese of Day Of The Dead in summer 2005, to promote the first ep, What Could Possibly Go Right .. ., first released at Firestarter and Gravemistake Records. Back in the car, Ruiner has to face the departure of his drummer, Joe Red. His replacement Joey Edwards soon got into the bath. Just two weeks of rehearsal is enough for him to perform his first show with his new training. It was also at that time that Ruiner signed his first deal with 1917 Records. Between 2005 and 2006, Baltimore's band accumulated concerts, filming with Dead Hearts , Killing The Dream , Final Fight , even performing a first European tour of about thirty dates. At the same time Ruiner recorded his first album. But, at the time of release, a problem caused the break with 1917 Records, forcing the band to approach another label. In March, Ruiner signed a contract with Bridge Nine Records at which, in the end, will be released Prepared to Be Let Down. The album is very well received and propels the band among the great hopes of hardcore. At the end of 2007, Ruiner returned to Europe with Sinking Ships and made a U.S. tour with Killing The Dream, This Is Hell, Elysia, Soldier and Broadway Calls. In February the guitarist Mitch Roemer left the formation, replaced by Dustin Thornton. The summer of 2008 is a real marathon for the band that runs dates in North America, a Japanese tour with Killing The Dream and a European tour with Counting The Days. In September 2008, Bridge Nine Records released a 14-track compilation entitled I Heard These Dudes Are Assholes. After many concerts and a growing popularity, Ruiner entered the studio in July 2009 with producer J. Robbins (Jets to Brazil, Against Me!, Modern Life Is War). At the end of August, an ep entitled Dead Weight was released, followed by Hell Is Empty's second album at the end of September. At the same time, drummer Joey Edwards left the band, replaced by T.-J. Catalfo. Ruiner then goes back on the roads with a maximum of shows around the world.
