Rx Bandits

Country: United States
Formed: 1997
Styles: Progressive Punk Ska

Biography

Originally from the city of Orange County, California, the Rx Bandits are a ska punk band with a very evolutionary style. The band was born in 1996 with the initiative of Matt Embree (guitar and singing) and Chris Tsagakis (drums), who surround themselves with friends (2 saxos and a bass) in order to be able to release their first EP entitled Demo(nstration) in D.I.Y. A year later, the band released its first album, Those Damn Bandits, which had some success (1,000 copies) on its own label: Antedote, and thus attracted the Drive-Thru Records label, which would re-release the album the following year to release nearly 3,000 copies. Also in 1998, Rx Bandits added a trombone to his line-up and released his second album, Halfway between here and there, which will also be reissued. 2001 sees the arrival of the third album with a new line-up (something very recurring in this band), Progress. The Bandits begin to find their own style, and depart from the comparison made with the Reel Big Fish. Musically they evolve and the texts clearly show the group's commitments. In 2003, and after having made many tours with the biggest sizes of the label, the band gratified us with a new album entitled The Resignation; a DVD would also be in preparation
