Biography

It could be easy to reduce Sarah Neufeld's biography to those around her. Her friends from Arcade Fire with whom she made her first instrument passes; or the Bell Orchestra with which it runs until 2009. His compositions have the same desire to be surrounded - Nils Frahm or Tim Hecker for a name dropping aguicheur; and the same need to surround her in turn - Colin Stetson with whom she released the beautiful Never Were The Way She Was in 2015. Sensual and energetic violin, harmonious voice, Sarah Neufeld began to develop her own work in 2011. Contemporary music leaving a large place for improvisation, with palpable silky textures, his personal work starts in 2013 with Hero Brother, released in the inevitable Constellation Records. Sarah Neufeld plays on the atmosphere for her second album, The Ridge , released in 2016. To the instrumental minimalism that prevailed so far, she added a semblance of pop player and musical emphase that confirmed a welcome and refreshing independence.
