Biography

The name of the Satanic Surfers first emerged in August 1989. After four years of rehearsal, they recorded their first EP Skate To Hell in March 1993. After line up changes, Burning Heart Records came into contact with the band in spring 1994 and released EP Keep Out! in September of the same year. Start '95, Ulf (singing on Keep Out!) leaves the band and Rodrigo (battery) replaces him, thus fulfilling both functions. This replacement, which was to be temporary, turns into a permanent occupation of post with the views of Rodrigo's stage performances! In May, the band joined Ten Foot Pole for an EP split on Bad Taste Records. Summer '95 is that
rehearsals for the first LP of the Hero of Our Time band released in September on Burning Heart. The success was immediate, and the Satanics began European tours with Burning Heart Millencolin and 59 Times the Pain bands and even toured Canada. The members of the band mature and the lyrics of the songs evolve: finish the bullshit and stupid delusions, the Satanic pass to the vindictive lyrics and angry against the system, people... In March '97, 666 Motor Inn made its appearance, then Going Nowhere Fast in March '98. The band separated from Tomek (low) just before the release of the album and Mattias, Magnus' twin brother (guitar) took his place. After a long exhausting tour to promote this last opus, the Satanic Surfers take a few months to rest from the end of '99. During this period, the band realizes that there are a lot of things that no longer satisfy them, they leave Burning Heart for Bad Taste and consider changing their name that no longer matches them! They finally decided to keep this name and released an album of rarity, unpublished... : Tales From The Crypt . The band emerged fresher and more motivated than ever from this period of questioning and changed musical orientation with Fragments and Fractions (25 September 2000). The compositions are slower, less hargistic and give more in a melodic punk rock style; Their sound also softens. In the spring of 2001, Rodrigo decided to drop the battery because being in the oven and mill becomes too stressful and tiring for him. Martin "Snake" Svensson, friend of the long-time group and employee of Bad Taste starts to repeat with the group and naturally integrates the training. Unconsciously Confined (8 April 2002) is therefore the band's first album without Rodrigo on drums and also the first album with this same Rodrigo singing exclusively. The band then loses its rhythmic section but still gives birth in the pain of a Taste the Poison that will put an end to their adventure. Rodrigo will later play in bands like Enemy Alliance, Venerea, and Atlas Losing Grip.
