Biography

It's barely 13 years old that Chris Conley will lay the first stones of what will become Saves The Day, a hit band, and musical cross between a Lifetime poppy and a Jimmy Eat World teenager. First named Indifference , then Seffler , the formation really took foot in 1997, when Eben D'Amico (bass), Ted Alexander (guitar), David Soloway (guitar), and Bryan Newman (battery) joined Conley (so the singer/guitarist), for a result placed on demo and a new name: Saves The Day (from the name of a speech of the title "Hero" of Farside ). One year later, Equal Vision Records took responsibility for signing them the young combo and released Can't Slow Down with Steve Evetts (Sepultura, Dillinger Escape Plan, Sick of It All ) to the controllers and a recording made during the winter holidays, since its members are still high school students! Through Being Cool follows two years later and offers its authors a real start of success in the running emopunk/pop, which does not stop the group from going through a line-up in 2001 just before the release of Stay What Your Are. The New Jersey band just signed with Vagrant (Thrice , Moneen ). This 3rd opus sells more than 200,000 copies, ensuring frequent MTV visits to its creators and concerts in the first part of Mastodones like Weezer, Green Day or Blink 182. With this success, Saves The Day concluded a deal with DreamWorks in 2003 to release In Reverie . Short-term association since in 2006, the quartet returns to Vagrant (which for its part had put on sale a record of rarity/Face B in August 2004: Ups & Downs: Early Recordings and B-Sides). Based on this new partnership, STD then embarked on the project of a trilogy with the release of Sound The Alarm (2006), Under the Boards (2007) and Daybreak (scheduled for 2008). Durijah Lang (ex Glassjaw) meanwhile came to take the place behind the drums.
