Biography
Scars On Broadway is at the base in 2003, the solo project of Daron Malakian, guitarist and singer at System Of A Down. He joined Casey Chaos (Chant), Zach Hill (Battery) and Greg Kelso (Guitare) in recording a demo, but the project was put on hold for a few years. After the release of Mezmerize and Hypnotize, Daron is looking for new musicians to reactivate Scars On Broadway, which he does in the person of John Dolmayan, drummer also of System Of A Down. The two compères thus compose the first eponymous album by Scars On Broadway, which was released in 2008 and is quite logically placed in the continuation of System Of A Down. Several musicians who vary quite regularly come to support the duo during live performances.After John Dolmoyan's departure in 2012, the adventure continues for a while before ending with a new hiatus in 2013. It was only later in 2018 that Daron Malakian, because the new System of a Down trample, decided to take a new line-up, rename the band as Daron Malakian and Scars on Broadway and release Dictator the same year.
