Biography

Born in England in 1973, Emma Louise Niblett takes on the alias Scout Niblett in tribute to Harper Lee's novel To Kill A Mockingbird . Influenced by the grunge wave coming from Seattle, and more particularly Nirvana, Sonic Youth and Mudhoney, Scout Niblett broadcasts a minimalist folk where the riffing of a dry guitar comes to support the strength of the drum skins, two instruments she is used to playing on stage. Thanks to her regular releases since 2001, the Englishwoman has managed to achieve some public recognition, thanks in particular to her energetic live performances and her collaborations with Steve Albini, for which percussions are often at the centre of production. The latest album by Scout Niblett , The Calcination of Scout Niblett , was released in 2010.
