Originally from Los Angeles, the meeting between Sense Field members began on the school benches, where Jonathan Bunch and Chris Evenson shared a common passion for punk/hardcore. After meeting Rodney Sellars, the trio decided to set up his own band: Reason To Believe. The latter released an album, When Reason Sleeps, Demons Dance, before continuing with a national tour that will see their interest, for bands such as the Pixies or My Bloody Valentine, grow more beautiful. The 'Ricains then embark on a second adventure, more in line with leus musical tastes, and recruit John Stockberger to bass, and Scott McPherson behind the drums. Thus Sense Field was born in 1990. The combo released its first album, Killed For Less , on Revelation Records, then Sense Field , again the same year (1994), which resumed their first two EP's; Two years later, the quintet will release its third album: Building . Sense Field sees the start of her drummer joining Elliott Smith. They then enlisted Rob Pffeifer, left Revelation Records, and locked up in their studio in El Segundo to record what was going to become Tonight & Forever: a re-recorded album that should never have been released. Unfortunately, during the ensuing tour, Rodney Sellars learned a sad news: his daughter's involvement in a car accident that would be worth diving into a deep coma. Sense Field resolves to continue the adventure, composing pieces from time to time, which will appear in the end on their fifth effort: Living Outside , produced by Brad Wood (Smashing Pumpkins , Sunny Day Real Estate ), released in 2003.
