Serena Maneesh
Biography
As its name suggests, Serena-Maneesh , created in 1999, comes from Norway. Playing a shoegasé rock between The Velvet Underground and My Bloody Valentine, the combo led by Emil Nikolaisen released a pair of confidential EPs in the early 2000s before releasing his first eponymous album in 2005, between hazy storms and melodies removed and which saw the participation on a song by their friend Sufjan Stevens ( MySpace ). The release, which was welcomed rather positively by critics, projected the group on the big scenes, in the first part of Oasis , The Dandy Warhols or Nine Inch Nails in 2007.
While preparing its new album, in 2008 the band released a reedition of its first two EPs, with remixes entitled S-M Backwards . A mouthpiece before the release of the ambitious S-M 2: Abyss in B Minor, a year later.
