Biography

Instrumental Quartet from Sydney, Serious Beak plays in the "eccentric amalgam" category of very different musical currents. Ambient psychedelism, djent textures, leaping hardcore and unbridled creativity mix around dissonant riffs all crazier than each other. Out of the box, the band offers a rather complex music that math and progressive fans may love. After several demos, the album "Huxwhukw" was released in 2011 on an Australian label (Art As Catharsis) specializing in this genre of UFO music. From Meshuggah to Secret Chiefs 3 to King Crimson and Cephalic Carnage, Australians have achieved a mini feat of mixing an incalculable number of discreet ingredients, influences and goodwill, allowing their music to exist on a music niche that cannot be properly defined. For the little story, and the artwork symbolism of the first album: Huxwhukw is a canibal bird in the long beak, enlightened servant of the Baxwbakwalnuksiwe, the cannibal of the north end of the world in the mythology Kwakwaka'wakw. Huxwhukw uses his long blinking beak to open the skulls of impudent men, pinging in turn with brain beaks and juicy eyeballs. Glory be to Huxwhukw, glory beaked from heaven. Just that.
