Set Your Goal is founded in 2004 in San Francisco, California by Gorilla Biscuits fans. The two singers, Jordan Brown and Matt Wilson, and drummer Michael Ambrose chose the name of their band in tribute to their fetish band since it was the title of CIV's first album (singer of Gorilla Biscuits). The starting line-up also included two guitarists Dave Yoha and Manuel Peralez and Michael Quirk on bass. The latter was quickly replaced by Joe Saucedo. Set Your Goals recorded its first ep in May 2004 at Straight On Records and toured in 2005 with The Warriors, Life Long Tragedy, Animosity, Turmoil and Wait In Vain. Manuel Peralez then left the formation to join another hardcore band from San Francisco, Alcatraz. Audelio Flores succeeds him. The stage performances of the group and the success of the ep will attract the interest of many labels. Set Your Goal signs in January 2006 at Eulogy Recordings, a label known for hosting many straight edge bands, which already produces their comrades from Warriors. It's all going to be very fast for this young band: in April 2006 he re-recorded his first ep under the title of Reset, and, as early as July, released his first album, Mutiny. Recorded at the Seattle Laundry Room, it is produced by Barret Jones ( Foo Fighters , I Am The Avalanche , Nirvana ). Set Your Goal is then invited in August to San Diego to open the reformation set of Gorilla Biscuits and continues with tours with famous bands such as Ignite, Most Precious Blood, With Honor, The Distance, Terror or Anti Flag. Set Your Goals is growing very quickly and the band is currently considered one of the greatest hopes of a positive hardcore punk that had been somewhat absent in recent years. It is undoubtedly a group to follow.
