Biography

Shadow Gallery formed in the mid-1980s in Pennsylvania, USA, first known as Sorcerer. During the early years, the band stabilized its line-up, found its final name (inspired from comic V For Vendetta), and recorded a demo that allowed them to be signed with the Magna Carta Records label. Their first album, eponymous, was released in 1992. Gary Wehrkamp joined the band as guitarist/clavier for recording the second album, Carved In Stone , which was released in 1995. The band became friends with James LaBrie, the singer of Dream Theater, to whom Shadow Gallery featured in the next album, Tyranny, in 1998. That same year, half of Shadow Gallery members (Carl Cadden-James, Brendt Allman, and Gary Wehrkamp) appeared on James LaBrie's first solo album. In 2001, the band released Legacy , the latest album by Magna Carta, and signed for the sequel by Inside Out Music ( Pain Of Salvation , Neal Morse , Riverside ...). In 2005, the continuation and end of the concept developed in Tyranny was published in the album Room V. In preparation for their sixth effort, the band announced in October 2008 that singer Mike Baker had died of a heart attack at 45. Shadow Gallery decides to continue with a new singer, Brian Ashland. Digital Ghosts released in 2009, and for the first time, the album will be defended on stage (the band was still considered a studio band). A European tour of a dozen dates takes place in 2010. Since then, Americans have matured their seventh album.
