Shannon Wright
Biography
In 1999, Shannon Wright launched solo on the ashes of his indi-pop group Crowsdell and began experimenting in his corner, without necessarily thinking about making a career. Yet when one of her friends gives one of her recordings to someone from Touch and Go / Quarterstick Records and the label offers her to release a first album, she decides to continue. Flightsafety comes out the same year, and receives a good welcome from critics and allows Shannon Wright to put in place its now characteristic piano/guitar/voice/speech recipe. Maps of Tacit (2000), EP Perishable Goods (2001), Dyed in the Wool (2001), Over the Sun (2004) and Let in the Light (2007) will follow, always stimulating enthusiasm. Note the release in 2004 of an album in collaboration with Yann Tiersen at Ici, D'envers. When his label closed, Shannon Wright signed with Vicious Circle for the release of Honeyebee Girls in 2009, followed by Secret Blood in 2010. She returned in 2013 with a ninth studio album entitled In Film Sound , released by EJRC. In 2017 she released Division , marked by more experiments.
