Sikh
Biography
Sikh trained in 2001 at the initiative of Kallaghan and Niko. In the same year, the band recorded a first demo Road Trip On The White Line and immediately felt the need to go further. It was therefore in 2002 that Gaël, former drummer of the death-metal band Vetha, joined Sikh by adding the necessary heaviness to the combo that claimed and imposed its trademark very quickly. Sikh gathers a faithful audience very quickly thanks to the various springboards that they win in the most famous rooms in south-eastern France. Recognized and noticed, Sikh tracks the first parts of groups such as Watcha , Tripod , Aston Villa , Pleymo or Aqme and defends his first self-produced maxi Reset Diagnosis that will pass in record time. From 2003 to 2005, the band played concerts and appeared on numerous national compilations. 2005 will be the year of turning and recognition with an eponymous debut album. From Sikh (recorded by Serge Begnis and Kallaghan; mixed by Fred and Watcha's Pendule), released in the fall of 2005, there is a music that is both furious and groovy, which takes its sources from the four corners of the metal universe, accompanied by personal and introspective texts or the second degree is often to be played. To defend this first album, Sikh starts a French tour of more than 20 dates on the first quarter of 2006, the ‘Blizzard Tour' which will be followed directly by the first part of the American band Hed(pe) on all their European tour in April 2006.
In autumn 2006, the composition and the first shots of what will become the second album began in Kallagan's studio. The group therefore shares the beginning of the year 2007 between the studio and the road since a French mini tour will be held from January to March 2007 as well as occasional concerts abroad (Ireland, Switzerland, Belgium). It was in June 2007 that Sikh signed with the label/tourner Dirty8 for the album One More Piece, which will be released on November 20, 2007 and will be promoted by the autumn ‘directy8tour' bringing together X-vision, S-core, Housebound, Superbutt and Sikh on the same set. This 12-step tour of France will also mark the integration of Roswell (Ex-Eths) who now replaces Boz in the position of bassist! The year 2008 is likely to be the year Sikh in view of the first impressions left by this new album, which will be defended on a tour through France.
