Sikth
Biography
SikTh is a British Mathcore / Progressive Metal band founded in 1999. The formation includes two singers: Mike Goodman and Justin Hill , an important feature because much of the band's ambient brothel and alchemy is based on this constant duality of personalities. The band released two EPs a few months apart in 2002 (Let the Transmitting Begin , then How May I Help You? ), and soon became quite popular in the UK (first place on MTV UK notably with the single How May I Help You? and his clip completely barred). They released a first album in 2003, soberly titled The Trees are Dead and Dried Out Wait for Something Wild , self produced and mixed by Colin Richardson ( Machine Head , Slipknot among others). Rather well received, the album is a concentrate of unbridled mathcore, with very successful atmospheres and progressions. So much so that they will be invited that same year to participate in the Download Festival in Donington Park, and will shoot in Japan in 2004 with Anthrax and Killswitch Engage, then at the famous Fuji Rock Festival, with Lou Reed, PJ Harvey and Primus in particular. Three years later, in 2006, the band returned with a second studio album, Death of a Dead Day, released under their brand new label Bieler Bros Records. Only a year later, the band split, officially so that the two singers can focus on their other ongoing projects and production careers. The rest of the band will not be able to find a replacement for the places left vacant by the duo of chaotic singer. Against all expectations, while the project was believed dead and buried, SiKth announced their participation in the Download Festival and the Euroblast in 2014, just before the release (by crowdfunding) of a new EP (fort bon) entitled Opacities . With this unlikely meeting and the insistence of the fans and their convincing live performances, the band recorded a third studio album (The Future in What Eyes?) released in 2017, without Justin Hill going to focus on production, replaced by Joe Rosser (Aliases , another band by guitarist Graham Pinney ). Line-up : Mikee Goodman – vocals Joe Rosser – vocals Dan Weller – guitar, piano Graham "Pin" Pinney – guitar James Leach – bass Dan "Loord" Foord – drum, percussion
