Silversun Pickups

Silversun Pickups is an alternative rock band formed in Los Angeles in 2000 by a group of friends, Brian Aubert (Chant / Guitar), Nikki Monninger (Basse), Jack Kennedy and Elvira Gonzalez. The latter two, however, left the band very quickly in 2002 and were replaced by Joe Lester (Claviers) and Christopher Guanlao (Battery). The band's career began seriously in 2005 with the release of the ep Pikul . In 2006, Californians released their first album Carnavas, which was very well received by critics accompanied by two singles, Lazy Eye and Well Thought Out Twinkles, which were printed in the United States. The alternative Rock style to the saturated guitars of Silversun Pickups is quickly compared to the Smashing Pumpkins style. The band then toured with OK Go and Snow Patrol in America and then flew for a European tour in the first part of the Foo Fighters on a few dates, then Kaiser Chiefs. Between 2008 and 2009, Silversun Pickups recorded their second album, Swoon , released in April 2009. Again, the album is very well received by fans and the music press. They made the first part of Placebo for a European tour in 2009 and then the following year, accompanied Muse to the United States. The band put this together with Against Me! , The Henry Clay People and Birds Of Tokyo to close an 18-month tour. It is then necessary to wait until May 2012 to see their third album, Neck Of The Woods , produced by Jacknife Lee (REM , U2 , Weezer ) arrive in the bins. Success is again at the meeting, despite some criticism. But the quartet continues its journey and returns in 2015 with Better Nature. In addition to Lee's production, they invite Alan Moulder ( Nine Inch Nails , Smashing Pumpkins , Marilyn Manson ) to come and bring his personal touch during mixing the disc. For example, Silversun Pickups renews its music to a more electronic Rock, tinted with Shoegaze's New Wave and Dream Pop, and then prepares for a European tour in 2016.
