Skinlab
Biography
Formed in 1994 in San Francisco, Skinlab is born with an effective Groove Metal with influences marked by Pantera or Machine Head. Led by Steev Esquivel (Chant / Basse), Paul Hopkins (Battery), the duo surrounds guitarists Gary Wendt and Mike Roberts, allowing them to release a first album, Bound, Gagged And Blindfolded at Century Media Records. With a change of guitarist in 1997, Steve Green replaced Gary, the combo released the ep Eyesore and then Disembody: The New Flesh. Mike Roberts left Skinlab shortly after, replaced by Scott Sargeant. Steve Green completed the quartet and eventually released Revolting Room in 2002. But the hard core of the group, Steev and Paul decide to abandon the project and the formation folds a later. The duo reshaped Skinlab in 2007 with Steve Glenn still playing guitar. The line-up is still very low, Adam Albright remained guitarist for a few months in 2007, Glenny Telford remained until 2009, and it was with the help of Brian Jackson that the band recorded a fourth album in 2009, The Scars Between Us via Stand And Deliver Records. Shortly afterwards, Mike Roberts returned to Skinlab only in 2010, Julian Peach replaced him for a year and it was now Provo who took the position of second guitarist until a possible future album was released.
